Instructions on flight awards redemption

1. Award miles can only be redeemed through Xiamen Airlines according to Xiamen Airlines’ redemption policies. Other airlines or agents shall not be entitled to handle Egret miles unless being authorized by Xiamen Airlines.

2. Award miles can not be sold, inherited or redeemed into cash. Members cannot redeem an award ticket with the combination of award miles and other payment methods.

3. Xiamen Airlines adopted new mileage accrual structure on the date of March 1,2012 and the miles accrued before that date is regarded as ”previous Egret miles”. The previous miles could be converted to Egret miles by this formula: 1 previous Egret Miles = 10 Egret Miles.

4. Mileage from different accounts can not be merged for award redemption.

5. The award redemption criteria for adult passengers apply to children and infant passengers.

6. Award tickets should be issued immediately after your booking and Xiamen Airlines does not provide ticketing on departure and free delivery service for award tickets.

7. Award tickets must have a definite itinerary, flight number, date and class of service, and they are not qualified for voluntary endorsement, voluntary rerouting or voluntary refunding.

8. Award tickets are valid for one year from date of issue and lost award tickets can’t be reissued.

9. “Award ticket” means only an exemption from paying the ticket fare. Passengers will be responsible for relating taxes and fees, which include, but not limited to, airport construction fees, fuel surcharges, departure taxes, and safety inspection charges.

10. The seats availability of award tickets and class of service ugrade on a flight is limited and restricted by blackout dates, please arrange your travel prior to the departure. For more details, please visit Xiamen Airlines' website Egret Miles Section or contact Xiamen Airlines’ service hotline at 95557.

Award tickets/Award upgrades with Xiamen Airlines

1. Award tickets or upgrades are not available on the code-share flights which are not operated by Xiamen Airlines and all charter flights.

2. An award ticket qualifies for one change in flight number or date free of charge within its validity period on condition that there is a seat available on the proposed flight and the request is made before the scheduled departure time of the flight. If more changes are to be made, a surcharge of CNY100 (or foreign currency of equivalent value) will be charged for each subsequent change.

3. If there is an involuntary change of flight date or itinerary or booking class, Xiamen Airlines will accept your award ticket on the flight we arrange for you. The miles difference will be recredited to your account in case of class of service downgrade, and no more miles will be required in case of an involuntary class of service upgrade. If there is no seat available for an award ticket, you can provide relevant information about the involuntary refund to any of Xiamen Airlines' ticketing office and we will recredit the mileage redeemed for the award ticket after verifying the information. Your recredited miles will remain valid from the date of the award upgrade redemption until 31 December of the fourth calendar year thereafter. Xiamen Airlines assumes no other liability beyond this.

4. Passengers traveling with award upgrade would earn miles based on the original cabin class, not the upgraded class.

5. In case of voluntary change of itinerary or voluntary refund, miles redeemed for award upgrade will not be refunded, but all other carriage conditions of the original ticket still apply.

6. An award upgrade qualifies for one change in flight number or date free of charge within its validity period on condition that there is a seat available on the proposed flight. The claims should be made before the scheduled departure time of the flight. If more changes are to be made, a surcharge of CNY100 (or foreign currency of equivalent value) will be charged for each subsequent change.

7. If there is an involuntary change of flight date or itinerary, Xiamen Airlines will accept your award upgrade on the flight we arrange for you. If there is no seat available for an award upgrade, the ticket may be used in the original class of service. You can provide relevant materials for the involuntary change to any of Xiamen Airlines' ticketing office and we will recredit the miles for the award upgrade to your account after verifying the materials. The recredited miles will remain valid from the date of the award upgrade redemption until 31 December of the fourth calendar year thereafter.
